I have laminate cabinets in my kitchen, how would i go about painting them?

amiller2955 asked:

The previous owner added cheap looking laminate cabinets on one side of my kitchen that clash pretty badly with the other cabinets. I want to paint all my cabinets the same color. Are there any special steps i need to take in order to paint the laminate cabinets?

just sand them down. use a fine grain sandpaper so you don’t scratch the wood. Then just paint over it.

Sand all of them, prime with a good primer. Paint.

You can simply sand them down, prime, and paint.
If you can afford to have them reface, then by all means go for it

Lightly sand, then use a primer (I prefer Kilz), then paint. Make sure you also paint a clear acrylic polyurethane also, so you can scrub and clean them later.
